Marvel Developing ‘Agents of SHIELD’ Spinoff

There may be more Marvel series coming to the small screen.

ABC is currently developing a new TV series with Marvel that is a spinoff of Agents of SHIELD. The new show is in its early stages and is being developed by SHIELD’s executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the new show will not be introduced with a pilot during SHIELD‘s current  season, but upcoming plot points will help set the background for it. No details are known in regards to what the show is about, nor is it known if any of the current characters on SHIELD will be in it.

The potential spinoff could hit TV screens as early as this fall if it is picked up. It could also mark the third Marvel series to air on ABC in addition to SHIELD and Agent Carter, which aired for eight episodes from January to February earlier this year. Both SHIELD and Agent Carter have had modest ratings and have yet to be renewed by ABC for another season.
