Yes it is true! Lady Gaga WILL be appearing on The Simpsons during its 23rd season.
Airing during the Spring of 2012, “Lisa Goes Gaga” will feature the pop singer stopping in Springfield to cheer up a depressed Lisa suffering from a low self-esteem.
Gaga was a little nerved wracked about her visit to the show. “I make music, but I don’t do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor,” Gaga said. “That’s what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much and really being as sincere as I could with the lines.”
Apparently it is Gaga’s dad who is most proud of her daughter’s achievement. “I would say this is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. My dad’s probably going to do 80 backflips when the episode comes out.”
Simpsons creator Matt Groening said of Gaga’s visit, “Since the very beginning, I’ve always wanted to have on the most iconic personalities of our time, and she’s it.”
This will be the first time in the history of The Simpsons that they have had a show business legend on the show that is younger than the actual show.
