Lenny Kravitz, Chris Rock, and Alicia Keys Join ‘Empire’ Season 2

Fox’s breakout series Empire is adding a slew of stars to its sophomore season.

The new season, set to premiere this fall, will now have 18 episodes as opposed to the 12 episodes it had for its first season. At Fox’s annual Upfront presentation on Monday, Fox announced that Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, and Alicia Keys are already set to appear on the new season. It is not yet known what their roles will be on the musical drama.

For its freshman season, which averaged 17.3 million viewers per episode, Empire had many guest stars, including Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Gladys Knight.

Rumors also claim that Common and Oprah Winfrey will appear on the second season, but they have not been confirmed.

In a conference call with reporters, Fox also revealed that Ne-Yo will be writing original music for the show.

Empire will air at 8pm CST on Wednesdays on Fox.
