Legendary Comic Phyllis Diller Dies at 95

Legendary comic Phyllis Diller passed away this morning at her home is Los Angeles, CA.  Sources told TMZ that Diller was surrounded by her family when she died.

“She was a true pioneer,” Diller’s longtime agent Fred Wostbrock told Entertainment Weekly. “She was the first lady of stand up comedy. She paved the way for everybody. And she conquered television, movies, Broadway, record albums, nightclubs, books, and radio. She did it all. A true pioneer.”

The mother of six began her career in 1952 and rose to prominence during the 1960s with specials alongside legendary comedian Bob Hope.

She starred in numerous television shows including “The Phyllis Diller Show,”  “The Beautiful Phyllis Diller Show,” and appeared as a regular on “Laugh In.”
