Jon Cryer can thank the company that built his helmet for saving his life after the Two and a Half Men actor was involved in a bike crash during the Malibu Triathlon on Sunday. The race features an ocean swim, an 18-mile bike course and a 4-mile run.
Although in pain, the 47-year-old Cryer was able to smile after being covered in road burns, as well as cuts and bruises throughout his arms and legs.
“I was bombing down the hill, having a great time on an awesome bike and the wheel got wobbly and away from me,” Cryer told a TMZ paparazzo after landing directly on his head. “Thank God for this bad boy (pointing to his helmet).”
Cryer then claimed that he will be involved in next year’s event, just not the biking portion.
The 26th Malibu Triathlon benefited the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital and raised a reported $1.17 million towards pediatric cancer research.
