For her new TV series, Jamie Lee Curtis will pay homage to her mother, actress Janet Leigh.
Leigh starred in Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller Psycho back in 1960 and was in the infamous shower scene. She was nominated for an Oscar and won a Golden Globe for the role. Curtis, who will be in Fox’s new series Scream Queens, decided to recreate that iconic scene for the show. The actress posted a picture of her screaming in the shower while holding a picture of her mother’s shower scene:

Curtis states the scene will occur in a “special episode” of the new show.
“My entire life I have refused to step into the shower because it belongs to my mother,” Curtis said to Variety. “I have attempted to step out of the shadow of my parents for a long time.”
“It felt like they’re both gone, and enough time has passed,” she added. “This role has appeared in my life. It’s unexpected and delightful.”
The cast of Scream Queens also includes Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Skyler Samuels, Oliver Hudson, Billie Lourd, Glen Powell, Diego Boneta, Keke Palmer, Nasim Pedrad, and Lucien Laviscount.
Helmed by Ryan Murphy, Scream Queens premieres on Fox on September 22 at 7pm CST.
