James Franco will be the next celebrity to be roasted during Comedy Central’s annual roast. The show will be taped next month in Los Angeles and will air on Labor Day (September 2).
The Pineapple Express actor announced the news on an Instagram video earlier today, saying “Hey, yo. What’s up? I’m gonna get roasted on Comedy Central. Be sure to check it out. They wanted me to tell you that. All right. Ha ha.”
The president of content development and original programming at Comedy Central, Kent Alterman, stated “If only James Franco was a more successful, multi-hyphenated, incessant creative risk taker in different media, he’d be the perfect person to roast. Oh well…I suppose we’ll just have to make do.”
Celebrities that Comedy Central has roasted in the past include Charlie Sheen, Roseanne Barr, Joan Rivers, and David Hasselhoff.
At this time, it is unknown which stars will be doing the “roasting” of James Franco.
