Better Call Saul, AMC’s highly anticipated Breaking Bad prequel, premiered with a bang Sunday night shattering the cable television premiere record with 4.4 million viewers in the key demographic of 18-49 and a total viewership of 6.9 million. The launch was aided with viewers by premiering immediately after the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead, arguably AMC’s most popular show.
The show’s first episodes aired Sunday with the second following immediately on Monday to a generally favorable reception receiving a 78 on Metascore based on 43 critics but… Could Better Call Saul be better than Breaking Bad? Fans online seem to think so.
Even Mike Le, writer of the films Patient Zero and Amnesiac was impressed.
However 86.5% of voters of a poll from E! Online have Breaking Bad as the better show. With only two episodes aired this debate will surely endure through the run of Better Call Saul’s first season. Which do you think is better?
