Howard Stern Says Goodbye To ‘America’s Got Talent’

Howard Stern has announced that he will be saying goodbye to America’s Got Talent after four seasons.

On his SiriusXM show on Wednesday, Stern said that he had been asked by NBC to commit to season 11 by July 4th. “I told them, this is my last season,” he said. “I am going through my own career evaluation right now. I’m just too f—ing busy.”

While NBC had no comment Wednesday, network insider told the NY Post that Stern, who is on a year-to-year contract, announces that he is departing from the show every year right around the time his deal is set to expire.

Last fall, Stern said he “really did struggle with [the] decision” to sign on for the current season. “I really wanted to decide if this was going to take away too much … free time.”

Stern teased on his radio show that he has received a “great opportunity” from another, unnamed TV show that is interested in him. He also suggested that America’s Got Talent’s executive producer Simon Cowell might be interested in the vacant seat on the judges’ panel.

“Simon Cowell wants it anyway. He would be good at it,” said Stern.
