Helena Bonham Carter and Rebecca Hall have joined the cast of HBO’s upcoming Steve McQueen drama pilot titled Codes of Conduct.
The show follows a young African American man named Beverly Snow (Devon Terrell) who tries to become a part of New York’s high society. Bonham Carter will portray author and psychiatrist Esther Kaufmann, a divorced mother of two grown boys and a member of a prominent Jewish family in Manhattan. If the pilot is picked up for a full series order, it will be the first-ever series regular role for Bonham Carter.
Hall will play Rebecca Rotmensen, the eldest child of a billionaire, who becomes a major rival of Beverly’s. The drama also stars Paul Dano as an entrepreneur who befriends Beverly.
McQueen and Matthew Michael Carnahan are co-writing the series. The two will executive produce along with Russell Simmons, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman. McQueen will also direct the pilot.
