Glee’s Cory Monteith Enters Rehab Facility

Cory Monteith, who plays the character Finn on Glee, has voluntarily checked himself into a rehabilitation facility to to be treated for an unspecified substance abuse problem.

The 30-year-old actor’s publicist released a statement saying Monteith, “asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”

Leah Michele, who is Cory’s girlfriend in both real-life and on Glee, released a statement saying, “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision.”

This is not the first time Monteith has checked himself into a rehab center.  The actor struggled with addiction problems throughout his teenage years and was admitted into rehab when he was 19.

Due to Monteith receiving treatment while the show is still filming, he will not be shown on the last two episodes of Glee‘s fourth season.
