‘Girl Meets World’ Debuts Opening Credits and Theme Song

In anticipation of the premiere of  Girl Meets World in a little over a month, Disney has released the show’s theme song and debuted its opening sequence via Entertainment Weekly.

The Boy Meets World spinoff will follow the life of Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley, played by Rowan Blanchard. The theme song for the new series is called “Take On the World” and is an upbeat and poppy tune performed by Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter, who plays Riley’s best friend Maya.

The beginning credits show some similarities to the credits of Boy Meets World with the montage of clips used for each cast member as well as the paper airplane which was used in the original Boy Meets World logo.

For comparison purposes, here’s a look at all of the Boy Meets World theme songs used over the course of the series run from 1993-2000.

Girl Meets World will premiere June 27 at 9:45pm ET on the Disney Channel. The first few episodes will be available on Disney’s WATCH Disney Channel streaming service May 21.
