‘Game of Thrones’ Wines Coming in 2015
Brace Yourself: Wines inspired by Game of Thrones are coming!
Next year, before the new season premieres, the Wines of Westeros, named after the fictional setting of the HBO drama, will launch. The line consists of 12 wines, each representing a major group or house on the show, including Tyrell, Lannister, Stark, Greyjoy, Arryn, Martell, Baratheon, and Targaryen. There are both white and red wines, from Sauvignon Blanc to Shiraz.
“The reds are all associated with the houses that are headstrong and robust. The whites, on the other hand, are more cunning, perceptive and mysterious,” said Jane Burhop of Common Ventures, the Australian agency who developed the set of wines.
“Whether this becomes a coveted item for the fans or a bottle that is opened with every episode, this wine is made to be drunk with friends and to help soften the blow of the shock and heartache as our favourite characters are slowly killed off,” Burhop added.
The wines are currently available for pre-order and will cost around $20 per bottle.
