The season six finale of Game of Thrones is drawing near, and HBO revealed it will be the series’ longest episode ever.
The finale, titled “The Winds of Winter” which is the same name as George R.R. Martin’s next installment in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, has a running time of 69 minutes. The previous longest-running episode was the 66-minute season four finale, “The Children.” The season six finale will air June 26th.
HBO also revealed the title for the penultimate episode of the season, which will be “The Battle of the Bastards.” It has not been confirmed, but the title seems to hint there will be a battle between Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton. The episode will air June 19th and has a runtime of 60 minutes.
The final two episodes of the season will both be directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who previously directed season five episodes “The Gift” and “Hardhome.”
