‘Galaxy Quest’ Reboot in the Works

Galaxy Quest is following the current trend in television right now, in which it may be getting rebooted for the small screen.

Paramount Television is developing a television series based on the 1999 science fiction comedy action film that was a parody of Star Trek and other science fiction shows. Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub and Sam Rockwell starred in the movie as cast members of a cancelled science fiction television series who reunite at a fan convention and end up having to embark on a real space adventure.

The original film’s co-writer, Robert Gordon, will likely pen the series. Director Dean Parisot and executive producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein are also reportedly in talks to return.

Paramount has recently been busy with bringing back old films as television series. A reboot of School of Rock is heading to Nickelodeon and USA has ordered a pilot for Shooter.
