FX Orders Zach Galifianakis and Louis C.K.’s Clown Comedy
FX has ordered a comedy entitled Baskets, which was co-created by Zach Galifianakis, Louis C.K. and Jonathan Krisel.
In the series, Galifianakis will star as a man named Chip Baskets who desires to become a professional clown, but ends up working at the local rodeo when he finds that he was not accepted to a prestigious clown school in Paris.
“To say Zach’s portrayal of the lead character Chip Baskets is hilarious/unique/riveting/fascinating would be an understatement. We can’t wait for the world to meet him,” Eric Schrier, the president of original programming for FX Networks, said in a statement.
Galifianakis, C.K. and Krisel co-wrote the pilot. Krisel will serve as the showrunner, while Blair Breard, Dave Becky, Marc Gurvitz, and Andrea Pett-Joseph will be the executive producers.
The first season will consist of ten episodes and is set to debut in 2016.
