Fox has ordered four more scripts for its new hospital comedy-drama series Red Band Society.
The decision to order more episodes allows production for the show to continue as the network evaluates whether it will pick up the series for a full-season or if it will cancel it. The show premiered back on September 17 to good reviews, but has not proven to be a ratings smash. The latest episode drew 3.2 million viewers and had a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49. However, the show has had solid ratings boosts of 70 to 80 percent due to DVR.
Red Band Society, which stars Octavia Spencer, focuses on a group of hospitalized teenagers who live together in a pediatric ward. It airs Wednesdays at 8pm CST.
