For the next season of American Idol, sources say Fox is looking to have American Idol alums to serve on the judging panel. After a drop in key ratings, the head honchos of Idol have decided to start from scratch, replacing all four judges. Randy Jackson, who has judged all 12 seasons of American Idol, announced his resignation earlier this month.
Fox is contemplating on having former American Idol finalists to serve as one or possibly all three judges. Sources say Fox has already approached Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson, two of Idol’s most successful alums, to be on the panel. There are also rumors circulating that former runner-ups Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are in consideration.
At this time, nothing has been finalized and Fox publicity has declined to comment.
