Disney Channel has released the first photo from its upcoming TV movie Descendants. Directed by Kenny Ortega, the live-action film follows the lives of the children of some of Disney’s classic villains.
In the musical adventure comedy, Ben, the son of Belle and the Beast and heir to the throne, makes a proclamation that frees the children of the villains who had been exiled to the Isle of the Lost. The children then must make the choice to either be good or be like their evil parents.
The picture below, released by Entertainment Weekly, shows the main characters of the film, which are: Mal (Dove Cameron) as Maleficent’s daughter; Jay (Booboo Stewart) as Jafar’s son; Evie (Sofia Carson) as the the Evil Queen’s daughter; and Carlos (Cameron Boyce) as Cruella de Vil’s son. The kids attend prep school where they meet the offspring of other Disney characters, including Cinderella’s son Chad and Mulan’s daughter Lonnie.
The film also features Kristen Chenoweth as Maleficent, Maz Jobrani as Jafar, Kathy Najimy as the Evil Queen, and Wendy Raquel Robinson as Cruella de Vil.
Descendants will air on the Disney Channel in 2015.
