WESTLAKE, La. – After the three finalists competed on “American Idol,” voters determined who would face each other to be named the winner of the show’s 11th season.
Jessica Sanchez, 16, was saved, which meant either Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips would be eliminated … and voters chose Phillips.
FOX 26 reporter Ruben Dominguez and Dave Morales from BackstageOL.com visited with Ledet’s family in his hometown of Westlake, La. on the night he was eliminated and gathered with other Westlake residents at the Coffee Cup Diner the morning after. Ledet’s family, friends and fans showed plenty of support for the eliminated singer, who just one weekend earlier performed at his hometown arena, took part in a parade and visited the high school he graduated from.
With Ledet no longer competing, either Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips will be the next “American Idol.”
