Discovery Channel has decided not to renew American Guns for a third season in the wake of recent events in Connecticut.
Deadline reported that the decision was actually made awhile ago, but Discovery Channel decided to expedite the announcement of the show’s cancellation after throngs of angry protesters took to the show’s Facebook wall.
“American Guns concluded earlier this year,” a Discovery Channel spokesperson said. “Discovery Channel chose not to renew the series and has no plans to air repeats of the show.”
The fact that Discovery Channel has no plans to air re-runs of the show may be in part due to last Friday’s events.
American Guns now follows in the footsteps of Discovery Channel shows Dirty Jobs and American Chopper that have been recently cut from their slate.
