Christina Ricci Is Zelda Fitzgerald In New Amazon Series

Amazon has given a launch date and a new trailer for its upcoming series Z: The Beginning of Everything. The “Z” is Zelda, but this isn’t the online retailer branching out into Nintendo territory with The Legend of Zelda. No, this Zelda is Zelda Fitzgerald. Yes, the wife of The Great Gatsby scribe F. Scott Fitzgerald.

The 10-episode first season will make its debut on January 27 and will chronicle their tumultuous romance and the glamour of the Jazz Age in New York state.

Ricci is the star attraction for sure, and she is paired with American Crime actor David Hoflin, who plays F. Scott. Academy Award nominee David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck) has a supporting role as Zelda’s father.

The first season follows the pair from 1918 Montgomery, AL to the literary and social circles of New York and Paris. Expect lots of style, glamour, gimlets and a combustible relationship. The original pilot was directed by Tim Blake Nelson, and if that was the series appetizer, I can’t wait for the complete meal.
