Christian Chavez Accused of Attempted Murder

Christian Chavez has been accused of attempted murder of his ex-boyfriend, Ben Stewart-Kruger. Chavez is a singer and actor most known for his role as Juan “Giovanni” Mendez Lopez on the Spanish soap opera Rebelde.

Christian and Ben were both arrested last month after a threatening incident at their Beverly Hills pad. Ben filed for a temporary restraining order after the incident, explaining “[Christian] attacked me, broke down bathroom door, armed with knife, attempted murder.”

Ben went more into detail about the situation, saying that they broke up and Christian was supposed to move out the day before the incident occurred. “A verbal argument caused this issue. I was locked in the bathroom when police arrived,” Ben said in court documents.

Chavez has not been held for any charges yet due to insufficient evidence. Ben’s request for a temporary restraining order was granted though, requiring Christian to stay more than 100 yards away from him.

The next court date for the two men will be held May 23rd.
