Charlie Brown Voice Actor Arrested on Multiple Felony Counts

Peter Robbins, the former voice of “Peanuts” character Charlie Brown, has been arrested in San Diego on charges of stalking and threatening to cause death or great bodily injury to a police officer and three others.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokeswoman Angelica de Cima reported that 56-year-old Robbins was arrested at the San Ysidro Port of Entry on Sunday when attempting to enter the country alone in a 2006 Mercedes. A background check on Robins passport flagged that he was wanted in San Diego on felony charges.

San Diego Police spokesman Gary Hassen confirmed that Robbins’ was wanted for four counts of stalking and threatening to cause death or great bodily injury to multiple individuals. One of those individuals is a San Diego Police sergeant who Robbins allegedly threatened with bodily harm on January 13.

Law enforcement officials in Oceanside and Carlsbad, California are investigating other possible incidents involving Robbins.

Peter Robbins is expected to be arraigned today on multiple counts of threatening to cause death or great bodily injury and stalking.

At the age of 9 Robbins was cast in the 1965 production of “A Boy Named Charlie Brown.” The following year he voiced the lead character in “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. Other “Peanuts” films that used Robbins voice include “Charlie Brown’s All Stars!” “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” “You’re in Love, Charlie Brown”, “He’s Your Dog, Charlie Brown”, and “It Was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown”.
