Bob Barker, come on down! The 91-year-old veteran, is back on The Price Is Right!
The television legend isn’t back for good, however- he only returned to make a surprise appearance for an April Fool’s Day stunt, which had the audience going wild!
Drew Carey, the current host, told Inside Edition, “They had no idea this was going to happen. No one in the audience had any idea.”
Barker, who wore a grey pinstriped suit and bright purple tie, was more than thrilled to be back, saying, “I loved it! I loved it!”
The isn’t the first April Fool’s Day prank The Price Is Right has ever done! Last year, they did a little switcheroo when former CBS Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson took over and hosted the game show instead of Carey. In 2013, the show’s models swapped jobs with Carey and announcer George Gray, leaving them to show off the merchandise in their place. Over the years, other pranks have included showcase gags, with models breaking prizes and phony trips.
Barker was a part of The Price Is Right from 1972 to 2007, with Carey taking over following his retirement. He earned 19 Emmy Awards from his 35 years as host of the show and 50 years on daytime TV.
The longtime game show host’s last appeared on the show in 2013 for the December 12th episode, which celebrated his 90th birthday.
The special episode of The Price Is Right featuring Bob Barker airs Wednesday, April 1st on CBS at 11/10c.
