Goodbye city correspondent Stefon, Al Pacino, Clint Eastwood, and all the amazing characters Bill Hader brought to life on Saturday Night Live.
After eight seasons funny man Bill Hader’s last show will be this weekend during the SNL season finale. At the end of the season Hader plans to move his family to Los Angeles due to the fast growing success of his wife Maggie Carey’s film career. Hader stars in her upcoming film The To Do List.
Hader took the giant leap to leave at the end of this season after seeing the success of his friends and fellow cast members Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg after they left SNL last year.
“It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” Hader said. “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.'”
Since Seth Myers will be replacing Jimmy Fallon on ‘Late Night’ next year, two ‘Weekend Update’ anchors who will no longer be apart of the SNL cast.
Hader is not afraid of leaving behind SNL, because he knows the show is in good hands with a newer generation of comedians, including Kate McKinnon, Taran Killiam and Vanessa Bayer.
“There’s a new sensibility happening,” Hader said, “and if it isn’t totally apparent on the show yet, I see it on Wednesdays at the table reads.”
