American Idol plans to pay tribute to the life of Dick Clark tonight.
Host Ryan Seacrest took to Twitter today announcing the show’s plans. “We’re putting together a tribute for Dick Clark on @AmericanIdol tonight…just talked to @dizzyfeet.” Mentioned @dizzyfeet is American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe.
The Idol host briefly mentioned the death of Dick Clark briefly on Idol last night saying, “Without Dick, a show like this would not exist.”
Ryan Seacrest had a long relationship with Dick Clark thanks to his executive producing and co-hosting duties on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve, a show Seacrest joined in 2006.
American Idol airs tonight on your local Fox Television affiliate at 8/7 central.
