FOX announced today it would be offering another prize through American Idol, and you don’t even have to sing for it.
The reality singing competition plans to give away $50,000 to the next American Idol’s biggest supporter, such as a family member, friend, or colleague. Each contestant will choose someone they consider to be their greatest encourager, also known as a “True Believer,” who will take home the reward at the end of the season if their contestant wins Season 14. If a contestant does not pick someone as their “True Believer,” that contestant can choose a charity to receive the prize money.
Idol begins auditions for Season 14 this week, kicking off in Minneapolis on June 18, followed by New Orleans (June 25); Uniondale, NY (July 23); Nashville (July 30); and San Francisco (Sept. 29).
