‘American Idol’ Announces Small Town Auditions

American Idol announced it will have three new ways to audition for season 12.

Season 12 auditions will consist of small town auditions, online auditions and the “Nominate an Idol” program. The show will embark on a 10-town nationwide tour called “American Idol Small Town Audition Bus Tour” that will give hopefuls a chance who couldn’t make it in the big cities a chance to try out. The cities on this tour will be Idaho Falls, ID; Billings, MT; Casper, WY; Rock Rapids, IA; Iowa City, IA; Bowling Green, KY; Clarksdale, MS; Joplin, MO; Dodge City, KA; and Grand Junction, CO. Specific locations and dates for these towns are to be announced.

“Nominate an Idol” program is a program where friends and families of individuals can nominate them in secret by filling out an online form with existing video or URL of their nominee, who they think may be the next “American Idol”. The nominee must be singing solo and a capella, and will be surprised on location by a film crew if their audition is chosen. They will have a chance to advance to the next round.

The last way to audition for season 12 of ‘Idol’ is through online auditions. Online auditions will be open from Wed Aug. 1st through Tuesday Aug. 14th. For submission, rules, terms conditions check www.americanidol.com.
