AMC To Honor ‘Mad Men’ Finale With Marathon and Blacking Out Sister Networks
AMC is pulling out all the stops for the Mad Men series finale.
To celebrate the drama series’ eight-year run, AMC will have a marathon of the entire series beginning Wednesday at 5pm CST. The marathon will conclude Sunday night, right before the final episode at 9pm CST.
AMC has also decided to block out its sister networks’ programming during the hour of Mad Men’s series finale. BBC America, IFC, Sundance and WE will all suspend regular programming and have a special message celebrating the show during that hour instead.
“Turning AMC over to Mad Men and airing every episode of every season as a lead-in to the finale on Sunday seems a fitting way to continue celebrating what this series has meant to the fans, to television and to our network,” Charlie Collier, president of AMC, said in a statement. “We are also enormously appreciative of our sister networks who are paying tribute to this remarkable program that has had such an impact on our entire company.”
During the marathon of all 91 episodes, AMC will also show old promos for the series, interviews with the cast and crew, and celebrity fan tributes.
AMC also released the final promo for the series today. Watch it below:
