‘7th Heaven’ Star Admits to Child Molestation, Co-Star Reacts
Stephen Collins, who played the beloved father Rev. Eric Camden on 7th Heaven, has reportedly admitted on tape to molesting three young girls.
The 67-year-old is being investigated by the Manhattan Special Victims Squad after formal allegations were filed for the molestation of two Manhattan girls. The LAPD is also reviewing the allegations of Collin’s child molestation confession that was secretly recorded by his now ex-wife, Faye Grant, but LAPD has not opened an official investigation.
According to divorce documents, Collins admitted to Grant, his then-wife of 27 years, and his therapist to molesting three young girls between the ages of 10 to 13 years old over several years more than a decade ago.
“Stephen admitted that he had sexually molested three underage girls over a decade ago; at least two of these three girls were molested over the course of several years,” documents stated. Two of the girls were from Manhattan and the other girl was from Los Angeles.
“I believe that Stephen used his celebrity status to engender the trust of the families of the children he molested,” Grant claimed in the divorce papers. “I further believe that there have been other victims, but he has thus far only confessed to those three girls.”
Grant secretly recorded their therapy session for documentation and released the tape to authorities in 2012, but confirmed that she had no involvement of releasing the tape to the media.”I woke up today to learn that an extremely private recording I handed over to the authorities in 2012 per their request in connection with a criminal investigation was recently disseminated to the press,” Grant told E News!
Due to the allegations, Collins has been fired from Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2 and a SAG spokesperson has confirmed that Collins resigned from the national board of SAG-AFTRA actor union.
Collins co-star and on-screen wife, Catherine Hicks, reacted to the news by saying she had no knowledge of his alleged crimes and says “I have really nothing to say, nothing to hide. I don’t know anything. Stephen is a good guy in my opinion.”
