Four years after its cancellation, 24 will finally be returning to television. Jack Bauer, played by Kiefer Sutherland, will continue to fight away terrorists in the face paced, edgy, action thriller.
Some changes, however, will be coming to the new version of the show.
For instance, 24 used to be released in twenty-four, one hour long episodes. This was quite unique to the show because it would cover an entire day all in real-time. In the new mini-series, there will only be twelve, one hour episodes. The episodes will still be in real-time but will skip a few hours here and there throughout the day. Basically, this will probably skip the stagnant moments of the series (i.e. four hour plane flights, restroom trips, and nap times).
Sutherland claims, “The response to ‘24’ is unlike anything I have ever experienced as an actor before. To have the chance to reunite with the character, Jack Bauer, is like finding a lost friend.”
24: Live Another Day will air on FOX during the summer of 2014.
