2014 Daytime Emmy Awards Announced

The 2014 Daytime Emmy nominations were announced on Thursday morning and CBS led the pack with an untouchable 61 overall nominations. The network’s daytime soap “The Young and the Restless” notched 26 nominations, and fellow soaps “The Bold and The Beautiful” and “General Hospital” grabbed 18 and 16 nominations each, helping CBS score the most nods of any network. Other networks with multiple nominations each include syndicated programs with 50, PBS with 44, Nickelodeon with 37, ABC with 30, and NBC with 18.

“With over 1,400 entries this year, the National Academy is again excited to welcome more than 350 nominees to this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards,” said National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences chairman Malachy Wienges in a statement.

Both “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” are up for Outstanding Drama Series, along with “Days of Our Lives” and “One Life to Live,” which earned 14 and seven nominations each. Other noteworthy shows with several nominations include “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” with 9, “Rachael Ray” with 5, “The Talk” with 5, “All My Children” with 4, “CBS Sunday Morning” with 3, “The Dr. Oz Show” with 3, “Let’s Make a Deal” with 3, “The View” with 3, “The Chew” with 2, “Good Morning America” with 2, “The Queen Latifah Show” with 2, “Steve Harvey” with 2, “Today” with 2, and “Wheel of Fortune” with 2. The 41st Daytime Emmy Awards will be held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif., on June 22.
