PayPal Accidently Makes Man World’s First Quadrillionaire

For a short while Chris Reynolds of Media, Pennsylvania was the richest man to ever live, at least according to a banking error from e-commerce site PayPal.

Reynolds got the shock of his life when he opened his PayPal statement to find out he had been credited $92,233,720,368,547,800.  That is over $92 trillion for those of you who don’t feel like counting all of those zeros.  Sadly, Chris logged into his PayPal account online to find out that his balance was back to where it was suppose to be, zero.

Yesterday, the online commerce site addressed the mistake in a statement saying, “This was obviously an error and we appreciate that Mr. Reynolds understands this was the case.”  As a result of Reynolds’ inconvenience, PayPal has offered to make a donation in Reynolds’ name to a charity of his choice.

Reynolds joked that if the balance would of been correct he’d have used the money to “pay the national debt down. Then I would buy the Phillies, if I could get a great price.”
