Watch: Stuntman Robbie Maddison Surfs A Motocross Bike
Robbie “Maddo” Maddison suited up in freestyle motocross gear, and rode the world’s heaviest waves in the Pacific Ocean in French Polynesia – on a dirt bike, with the help of some skis.
“I’d become quite terrified, trembling in my boots,” Maddison confessed to Rolling Stone. “But I made my bed and it was time to lie in it.”
The 34-year-old Australian motorbike stunt rider has previously accomplished other terrifying stunts on his dirt bike, including his New Year’s Eve jump onto the top of the Arc de Triomphe in Las Vegas and his history-making leap over the Corinth Canal in Greece.
When asked what made him decide to perform a stunt such as this, he replied, “This dream is about combining two of my life’s passions in order to do something that has never been attempted.”
For nearly two years, Maddison has been focused on making surfing on his motorbike a reality. And now, in collaboration with DC Shoes, titled Robbi Maddison’s “Pipe Dream,” watch as the daredevil rides his dirt bike on the powerful and iconic waves in Teahupo’o, giving the world a chance to witness history being made.
