What is the big deal with USA Basketball?
The glory and honor to represent your country. The determination in your favorite athlete to win it all. It is the ultimate symbol of with hard work and determination, you can make your dreams and others dreams come true.
This is the message Nike and Chicago rapper Chance the Rapper are conveying in their new ad.
In a show of patriotism you hear Chance add more meaning to the “Star-Spangled Banner” singing “Oh saay, Can you see America’s face? We share a pair of parents, we took good care of the place. We just want narrators to pick up the narrative’s pace. Put on a show for us, float for us. Make it easy, make some more for us. Save the day.” In a show of unity you see both USA Basketball teams projected on the buildings of a major city and huddled together to show they are one with the people they are representing.
The video shows one of the truest depictions of the Olympics and why it is so important to the people of the United States; its a symbol of perseverance.
The Nike ad is part of a larger campaign running with the Rio Olympics. It showcases USA Men’s and Women’s squad in all its glory, those include Kevin Durant, Tamika Catchings, DeAndre Jordan, and Elena Delle Donne to name a few.
