Vince Young: “I’m Broke, $34 Million Gone”

Vince Young has ran out of money. How is it possible that the No.3 pick of the 2006 NFL draft is broke after signing a six-year, $48 million contract with the Tennessee Titans?

It seems Vince’s financial adviser is to blame.

In June, Young filed a suit against his former agent Major Adams II, and financial adviser, Ronnie T. Peoples of Peoples Financial Service, claiming over $5.5 million of his money was mishandled by Peoples Financial Services. The suit was filed after Young defaulted on a $1.9 million loan, that was to be paid to Pro Player Funding LLC as judgement against the former NFL quarterback.

According to Young’s attorney, the loan was reportedly obtained by Adams and Young by falsifying documents and impersonating Vince’s signature for their own financial gain.

“They conspired to take Vince’s money,” Trey Dolezal, Vince Young’s attorney, told the Associated Press. “It’s that simple.”

Some are speculating that the reason for Vince’s release from the Buffalo Bills was due to his pending legal issues.

“I wasn’t in the room when they (the Bills) made a decision, but what would you think? It certainly wouldn’t help me if I’m the owner or the head coach knowing all this is going on with Vince and then he goes out and plays poorly,” Dolezal said.

During Vince Young’s six seasons in the NFL, he earned over $30 million from his rookie contract and another $4 million from the Buffalo Bills last season.

So, where will Vince go now?

It looks like the former NFL quarterback’s two options are the Canadian Football League (CFL) or the United Football League, the later of which plans to restart its season in a few weeks thanks to a new contract with CBS Sports Network.
