The Ultimate Warrior Autopsy Results Released

Authorities in Arizona have released the autopsy results for former WWE star The Ultimate Warrior.

According to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office, former pro wrestler James Hellwig, known as WWE star The Ultimate Warrior, died of cardiovascular disease when he collapsed in a Scottsdale hotel parking lot on April 8.

The Ultimate Warrior was one of WWE’s biggest wrestling stars throughout the 1980s and 1990s until his retirement in 1998.  Just last week the 54-year-old was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame before giving a speech at Monday Night Raw for the first time in 17 years the night before he collapsed.

Warrior died of “atherosclerotic/arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease” and of natural causes, but a full autopsy report likely won’t be completed for several months. He is survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters.
