Record Long Putt for Olympic Swimmer Michael Phelps

Olympic Swimmer Michael Phelps can go ahead and add another achievement to his 22 (18 gold) medal record, but this time in golf.

Last Friday (Oct. 5) Michael Phelps sank a putt from more than 150 feet in Scotland. Phelps was apart of the European Tour’s Alfred Dunhill Championship. He was paired with Paul Casey on a pro-team. Phelps reached the green at the par-4, 337-yard No. 6 hole at Kingsbarns with his drive. Seems like Phelps has picked up the game of golf with Hank Haney as his instructor and managing to register as a 24 handicap.

“A 50-yard putt!” Phelps said. “That was the longest putt I’ve ever holed so it was pretty incredible and watching it die in was a cool feeling.” Phelps putt was also the longest putt ever recorded on television according to European Tour Officials. So far Phelps and Casey are 9-under 135 while the pair of Hugh Connerty Jr. and Thongchai Jaidee lead at 21-under.
