The father and stepmother of former NASCAR racecar driver Robby Gordon were found dead in their Orange, California home Wednesday.
It is unclear how Robert “Baja Bob” Gordon, 68, and Sharon Gordon, 57, died. A 911 call was made by a neighbor at approximately 5:00pm Wednesday after finding the two bodies in the home. The neighbor had been asked to check on them after family members were unable to reach them. Police reported that a weapon was found at the home.
“This is devastating,” Robby Gordon told reporters, according to the Orange County Register. “[My father] taught so many, and I want everyone to know what a good man he was.”
“I’d like everybody to understand that this is very, very tough, and it’s not only tough for me, but it’s tough for my sisters…It’s going to be tough on all of us,” he said.
“The truth will come out,” Robby Gordon added.
Robby Gordon has raced in the IndyCar Series and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. He currently races in an off-road series.
