The past few weeks have been difficult for the Vikings’ Adrian Peterson, but at least he has his freedom.
That may change quickly however, after new reports emerged Wednesday that Peterson admitted to “smoking a little weed” before taking a court-ordered drug test. Prosecutors in Montgomery County are demanding that Peterson be re-arrested. Taking any illegal substance is a violation of his agreed-upon bond conditions, meaning Peterson could be ordered to jail.
Before anything happens, a hearing will have to be scheduled, which means Peterson will likely discover the consequences of his latest misstep sometime next week.
The All-Pro running back is still scheduled to stand trial Dec. 1 on felony child abuse charges. He faces up to two years in state prison if convicted.
