Matt Schaub Traded to Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders have traded a sixth-round draft pick in the 2014 NFL draft to the Houston Texans in exchange for quarterback Matt Schaub.

Schaub became expendable when the Texans signed former Tennessee Titians quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a two-tear contract on Thursday, and not long after Houston singed Fitzpatrick, Oakland made an offer for Schaub.

After Schaub lead the Texans to the AFC South Division title in 2011 an 2012, he began to struggle in last years season with a finish of 2,301 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. After being benched to Case Keenum in October, the 10-year veteran still couldn’t help the Texans avoid a 14 game losing streak when he returned.

Schaub will be joining Terrell Pryor, Matt McGloin and Trent Edwards on Oakland’s quarterback roster.
