‘Madden NFL 15’ Accurately Predicts Super Bowl Winner, Final Score
Each year, video game developer EA Games simulates the Super Bowl with its Madden NFL video game. For nine of the past twelve seasons, the game has accurately predicted the winner of the Big Game.
However, this year the game proved to not only correctly predict the winner, but also the exact score and many other facets of the game.
In the simulation, the New England Patriots scored first. They were also down by ten points in the third quarter and overcame that deficit to win 28 – 24 over the Seattle Seahawks, which included a game-winning touchdown catch by Julian Edelman. In addition, Brady had four touchdowns in the simulation and was named the Super Bowl MVP. All of these events happened in the real game.
In addition, Madden guessed that Brady would throw for throw for a total of 335 yards. In the actual game, the Patriots threw for 328 yards.
All of these aspects made Madden NFL 15’s projection of Super Bowl XLIX to be the most accurate simulation of the twelve that have been conducted.
