Jose Canseco Injured in Accidental Shooting

Former MLB outfielder Jose Canseco was injured on Tuesday after accidentally shooting himself in the hand at his home in Las Vegas, NV.

The incident occurred when Canseco was cleaning his handgun and the weapon accidentally discharged. Jose’s fiancee, Leila Knight, told TMZ Sports that Canseco didn’t know the weapon was loaded at the time of the incident. The bullet is said to have ripped through the bottom portion of the slugger’s middle finger. He was immediately rushed to University Medical Center.

Doctors are currently in surgery trying to repair the damaged finger, but even under the best circumstances doctors claim that the 50-year-old will never have full use of the finger again.
