Former NFL running back and Heisman winner Eddie George is heading to Broadway.
Next year, George will be making his Broadway debut as lawyer Billy Flynn in Chicago at Ambassador Theatre. George, a football legend, won the Heisman Trophy in 1995 and played in the NFL for nine years for the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys. He also led the Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV and made the Pro Bowl four times.
He will join the Chicago cast on January 11, 2016, for a seven-week stint, ending on February 28.

George expressed his excitement over the role on social media:

George has a few theater credits on his resume, including Matthew Lopez’s The Whipping Man and Suzan-Lori Parks’ Topdog/Underdog at Nashville theaters. He has also taken on the roles of Othello and Julius Caesar at the Nashville Shakespeare Festival. In addition, he has appeared on television and in films, such as Best Man Holiday and The Game Plan.
