Chad Johnson Arrested for Probation Violation

NFL free agent Chad Johnson was arrested and jailed in Broward County, Florida this morning after a judge determined that Johnson had violated his probation of a domestic violence charge involving his ex-wife.

The former wide receiver had been serving a year on probation due to an altercation between him and his now ex-wife, Evelyn Lozada. Johnson had allegedly head-butted Lozada during an argument over condoms she had discovered in his vehicle back in August of 2012.

Earlier this month the former NFL star had a warrant out for his arrest after he had left town and failed to meet with his probation officer in both February and March. Johnson is now being detained in Broward County jail and is expected to post the $1,000 bail and is likely to be released later in the day.

Johnson had been playing with the Miami Dolphins, but was terminated due to the domestic violence charge.  He also previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots.
