Five days ago, sources told ESPN that center DeAndre Jordan had agreed to join the Dallas Mavericks on a 4 year-$80 million deal. Everything seemed set in stone. Los Angeles Clippers fans and players felt the failure of the offseason was allowing DJ to slip from their grasp. Clippers shooting guard JJ Reddick expressed his disappointment on Twitter:
F. Is there an F-minus? Listen, we had one priority this summer, and that was to re-sign DJ, and we missed out on that. Barring some miracle, the makeup of our team is completely different now.
With everything to lose, and everything to gain, Clippers owner Steve Balmer, Coach/Team President Doc Rivers, Forward- Blake Griffin, and Guard – Chris Paul visited Deandre at his Houston home. The organization gave a final push to pursued him into staying with the team. The collective even decided to spend the night at Jordan’s home, blocking in the free agent center to not allow any Mavericks representative to enter his home.

Now it seems as the Clippers efforts have worked! Reports are flooding in that DeAndre has decide to back out of the Mavericks deal to resign with the Los Angeles Clippers. The All Star center felt torn after deciding to join the Mavs, but people close to Jordan said his agent, Dan Fegan, mislead him into signing with Dallas.
Dallas Mavericks owner Marc Cuban, Forward – Chandler Parson, and DeAndre’s agents Dan Fegan and Jarrin Akana flew to Houston on Wednesday hoping to solidify their agreement. Now it seems that will not be coming to fruition.
There’s no word on how much DeAndre will be getting from the Clippers, but they have enough for a max deal of five years, $110 million dollars.
