Just a day after former NFL tight end Aaron Hernandez was dropped from his team and charged with murder, a new report is showing that Hernandez is now being investigated as a possible suspect in a double-homicide that occurred in Boston last year.
According to a Boston Police blog, officers responded to a call on July 16, 2012 in downtown Boston at 2am. When arriving to intersection of Shawmut Avenue and Herald Street, police found three individuals who had been shot, two of them fatally, as they were sitting at a traffic light.
The two men killed were identified as Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu. The duo had just left a bar in the area before the shooting occurred, according to a FOX 25 source. Furtado and Abreu were sitting in the front seat of their vehicle when a gray/silver SUV with Rhode Island plates rolled up alongside the vehicle and started firing. The third victim who was shot and lived was located in the back seat of the vehicle.
Police are still investigating Hernandez’s connection to the case.
