After seasons of under achieving in New York and accusations of PED use, Alex Rodriguez has made it in the record books.
A-Rod came through with a huge slam tying the game against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. Although the tying home run didn’t translate to a win for the Yanks, that home run is something to behold. After his solo home run, Rodriguez reached the record books as one of two players to reach 30 home runs in 15 seasons. The only other player to reach that milestone was a former Yankee great Hank Aaron.
There was doubt that Alex Rodriguez wouldn’t be able to produce after a season suspension, especially when hes aging to a lean 40. Yet surprisingly A-Rod is having one the best comeback seasons in recent memory.
While his batting average isn’t his best, he has still managed to come up with 30 HR’s with 78 RBI’s and 75 runs. He has helped the Yankees into being one of the top team in the American League and has pushed them into the lead in the Wild-Card Standing.
With only 21 games left in the season, if the Yankees continue to pull away with wins they are sure to be the top team in AL East.
With only a game behind the Toronto Blue Jays in the division, their destiny is in the hands of their best player. Fortunately their best player has been producing since day one of the baseball season.
Take a look at A-Rod’s 30th home run of the season below:
