Willie Nelson Tour Bus Crashes Into Bridge, Multiple Band Members Injured

A tour bus carrying five members of Willie Nelson’s band spun out of control and crashed into a bridge early Saturday morning. The crash occurred on I-30 near Sulphur Springs, Texas during a severe storm that produced heavy rain and winds.

Three of the band members were hospitalized as a result of the crash. Band member Robert Paul English suffered a broken hip while Billy English and Thomas Ray Hawkins were treated for minor injuries. Willie Nelson was not on the bus at the time of the crash.

According to Willie Nelson’s website, the band’s tour has been indefinitely suspended. Willie Nelson was scheduled to perform at Horseshoe Tunica Hotel and Casino in Mississippi Saturday night.
